Day 1: Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park

Your journey begins early in the morning as you depart from Kampala, heading northwest towards Murchison Falls National Park. The drive, approximately 5-6 hours, offers stunning views of Uganda’s lush countryside, villages, and farmlands. Along the way, you’ll stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for an hour of guided rhino tracking. Ziwa is the only place in Uganda where rhinos can be seen in their natural habitat, making it a significant conservation effort towards reintroducing rhinos to the wild. Afterward, continue towards Masindi town, where you’ll have lunch before proceeding to Murchison Falls National Park. Upon arrival, visit the top of Murchison Falls, where the Nile River squeezes through a narrow 7-meter gorge and plunges 45 meters down, creating a thunderous spectacle. Take in the breathtaking views and capture stunning photos before heading to your lodge for check-in, relaxation, and dinner. Day 2: Murchison Falls Game Drive and Boat Safari

Rise early for a morning game drive in the northern sector of the park, which is home to an array of wildlife species. With the guidance of an experienced ranger, drive through the savannah in search of lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, warthogs, antelopes, and numerous bird species. The golden sunrise provides a perfect backdrop for capturing stunning photographs. After the game drive, return to the lodge for a late breakfast and some relaxation before heading out for an afternoon boat safari on the Nile River. This thrilling boat cruise takes you to the base of Murchison Falls, where you’ll witness the majestic waterfalls from below. Along the way, spot hippos basking in the water, massive Nile crocodiles sunbathing along the banks, and various bird species such as the African fish eagle, kingfishers, and the elusive shoebill stork. Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking in Budongo Forest

After an early breakfast, set off for Budongo Forest, located in the southern part of Murchison Falls National Park. This tropical rainforest is renowned for its rich biodiversity and is home to one of Uganda’s largest populations of chimpanzees. Upon arrival, you’ll receive a briefing from expert guides before embarking on a guided trek in search of chimpanzees. As you navigate the forest trails, you’ll also encounter other primates like red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, and various bird species. Once you locate a chimpanzee troop, spend an hour observing their fascinating behaviors, including grooming, playing, and foraging. After the trek, enjoy lunch and relax before transferring back to your lodge in Murchison Falls for an evening of leisure. Day 4: Travel Back to Kampala
